Two up is good

jcrns4evr,
I have had my 2004 Sprint ST from new but have the Triumph Gel seat which my wife & I really like. Just don't leave it uncovered in 40 degrees Celsius sun or your bum will catch fire afterwards!

I ride a lot with my wife as Pillion and often very hard rides. My suspension is slightly moded but basically the answer to your question is it is an excellent long distance tourer two up.

I hope that is helpful.

plenty of pics in my two albums on the clicky's below of both bike seat and pillion.

Cheers
DaveM

WHich bike would be more comfortable for 2up, the Sprint ST or the Tiger (2000 and up)

Tiger or Sprint

I havent ridden the new Tiger or even an old one but I recently rode with my mate iceman who was in Ozz on holiday he hired an '07 Tiger and said he preffered his '05 1050 Sprint.

You could PM iceman and get his thoughts more detailed than I.

I think it would depend more on the passenger. You definitely should get an aftermarket King and queen seat.

Like DaveM, I have a 2004 ST and do a lot of 2 up riding with the missus on the back. She is pretty petite so I do not know she is on the back most times. We have done some long jags Sydney to Melbourne via the cost road approx 1100klm in the day. That is pushing it a bit but 700 to 800klm is a breeze.

When touring i keep the gear down to a minimum that is using a Triumph top box and tank bag, what doesn't fit in there don't go. We tour that way for upto 2 weeks at a time.

Your lucky. My wife's idea of touring is a twenty mile ride to the beach for lunch and back.

Hey Gazza

That ain't no good, that means I would have to talk to her. When on the bike I'm in control, we stop when the fuel runs out, ride at my speed, to my route. Apart for a once in a while dig in the back marriage is bliss when on the bike together.

My girl hates getting on the back of the Sprint ST but loved getting on the back of the Bonnie.I think that is because of the extra height.

I know it's the newer version, but two up is fun on the Sprint. I wish I had some ones of us on our old Sprint.
