Unhappy Broke Down in New Orleans!

Hey everyone! Just signed up for this forum and unfortunately it ain't all good. I'm from Asheville, NC on a '96 Sprint and blew out my radiator a few days ago. The flange that the top hose fits over is broken/missing/in pieces so now I'm looking for a radiator. Does anyone out there have a used radiator for this Sprint? I've been waiting for the local dealer to open so I'll be calling them after this post. Any help would be appreciated.

That Stinks - Not the best way to welcome you to the forum. I don't have one, but hopefully you get up and going soon. There are a lot of sprint riders here and hopefully someone can help you out.

Man that sucks! Sorry that your first post was news like this. But I think you've come to the right place - if anyone knows of where to find a radiator for a sprint, it'll be someone on this forum. Good luck and welcome to the forum!

Thanks!

Thanks ya'll...The local Dealer can get a new one for over $500 and I found one used one online for $375...Still looking... I plan on being a regular contributor to this forum in the future...I still love my bike in spite of the troubles

Take it easy, and if anyone out there has a line on a radiator, i'm still in the market. At least until tomorrow....

Maybe you can have it repaired? I have had auto radiators repaired in the past. From the way you describe the problem it might be possible to fabricate a substitute flange and braze or weld it to the rad. Worth looking into and it would be a hellava lot cheaper than a new or bone yard rad.

Welcome and that sucks...(in that order)

Welcome to our little slice of sarcastic heaven. Sorry that your first contribution was re a blown rad but glad to hear you still love your Sprint (and nobody hurt.) Well, we all know there's no such thing as a maintenance-free bike. So just get all your unlucky mojo out of the way up front and enjoy the ensuing piles of miles with smiles.

Which Radiators will fit

Do you know if the radiators off of any of the other Triumphs will fit and if so which ones there are some for the 595 series on ebay for $70.00 and couple more for $100.00 and you might want to also check the sprint net also for a radiator @ triumphnet.com

So, the part number for the rad is T2100670 and any rad from bikes up to VIN #139276 (last 6 digits) will work. It's a good thing that I like a good challenge, 'cause it ain't easy finding parts for this particular bike. And the good news is that once I have the rad, it won't be hard to put it in.

Thanks for all the replys ya'll.... I'm gonna keep on keepin' on...
