Air Hawk

I'm planning a long trip on the Sprint and was considering an Air Hawk seat for myself and the passenger. I've had a look at a few on other bikes and obviously the accessory seat sits on top of the standard seat. I'm a bit worried that this would change the riding position enough to be an annoyance, especailly when trying to tuck under the faring screen. Has anyone tried the seat on the 1050 Sprint? Does the elevated ride position feel wierd?

Mick,
I have a friend who is a fairly big bloke, bigger than me. He uses an air hawk on his FJR and he thinks it's great.

I purchased an air-hawk (small square) seat designed for the passenger seat but I use it on the main one. It worked great on my 8000 km trip to the grand canyon and back. It raises your seat very little because they recommend only 1/2 inch or so of air in the pad. This allows your body to move and conform without losing the feel of actually sitting on your motorcycle. I would heartily recommend it especially if you are planning any 500+ mile days or have any butt issues . Only issue I had was that it gets wet in the rain as the pad cover will soak it up and get your seat wet if you don't have rain gear on. First rate product. I think I would get with the bigger square pad for the main seat next time, though mine works okay.

Thanks and yes my wife and I both suffer from 'tender butt' syndrome so after a few hours in the saddle we are ready for a bum massage. I think I'll give it a go, I won't be doing any crazy riding on the trip seeing I'll have the human speed detector on the back
