Any ideas on how oil could be getting into my tank breather line? I'm thinking that it's probably just evaporated gasoline weeping out the line possibly?
It is likely road scum and oil from under the bike. The vent line will produce a little vacuum as the tank empties or cools down sucking whatever gunk is down there up into the tube. It should stay pretty much to the bottom of the hose as you have gravity helping it find it's way out.
This is definitely a drip from the breather line with the check valve in it. It's black and oily and leaves a few drips after each ride. It seems like very light weight oil, so I figured that it may just be old gas dripping down and degrading the vent line possibly?
