Exclamation front brake rotors

I was inspecting the front brake rotors today. It seems that I can wiggle the rotors a bit. Should the rotors be a bit loose? I'm assuming they are 'floating' from other sources of information I've read. Should I be concerned?

Hi, Welcome to the Forum ! and Yes, they should waggle from side to side slightly. The outer disk is on bobbins with spring washers on them, to allow the disk to ,"float" on the inner rotor. It's supposed to allow for heat expansion of the rotor. The theory is that solid rotors could warp due to poor distribution of heat. But after saying that, floating rotors still can and do warp !

Smile Rotors

Yep, Pcdablers right one, they float in order to self center when braking.
