Yes, I have upgraded springs & rear shock. I'm very pleased. I had my dealer do the install. I had done a post on this some time ago. I'll look for it to send a link or I'll post pics again later when I get more time.

Try doing a search on "wilbers" or "1050 suspension." I'm pretty sure thats what I posted it under.

I have also done the fork and rear shock upgrade....well worth the money. It makes the bike more ridable with luggage. I had the stock suspension set to the best of its ability but is just wasn't enough. So before the Cape Brenton trip in June I upgraded...and it was well worth it. Even helped out with 2 up since my better 1/2 likes to ride with me.

Wilburs not the only solution

Ricster,
you will find pleny of folks here have upgraded the rear shock and front end including myself but not necessarilly with a Wilburs unit or fork springs.

On my '04 955 Sprint I have had my Showa stock rear shock completely rebuilt by an Australian Motorcycle suspension specialist including revalving etc.
At the front I run 10wt oil with greater volume.

This set up cost me very little and provides amazing handling compared to the stock set up.
