Smile Rear Suspension Maintenance

I bought a 2000 Sprint ST new and now have 34125 miles on it. I have done all maintenance on it myself. Now the rear Shock has bit the dust, and have opted for a new Penske Sport Shock. One maintenance item I have been putting off is greasing the bearings in the single sided swingarm. Since I will be getting the new shock next week, I have thought this would be a good time to perform this maintentance.
Do the rest of you guys who do your own maintenance perform this swing arm maintenance yourself, or would it be a dealer thing. I don't have a couple of the special tools needed and just wondered how necessary they would be to have. I don't want to start the project without having everything necessary. If you think its easy enough to tackle myself, I could order the tools rather than pay the dealer.
Any thoughts about all this?

I had a 2001 model and did abt 65,000 kms before I traded to an 06. I had dealer service done over its life with me and I don't think that there was any service here other than service and greasing the suspension linkage. I am not sure what the 'book' says but unless you travel over really poor roads I doubt if it would be required. You might need more feedback here though.
Cheers, Simmo

Its easy. Get the Haynes aor similar manual. You will need to make a couple of tools. Just be careful with the main bearing. You need a certain size bolt with an odd thread.
