SHELL ROTELLA-just to stir the pot

2007 introduced a new diesei oil classification CJ-7,for low emmission diesel engines.this oil is designed to reduce extra soot produced in the combustion cycle.what this means is that almost all of the additives we need for M/C'S mave been eleminated.it's just about like the automotive "high milage" in this respect.offered as a point of information only, i'm no oil guru !

I'd rather talk about exhaust gas analyzers.

Which shell ROTELLA are you talking about - there are something like 5 or 6 versions...

The ROTELLA T - full synth 5W-40 is the one that should be used in Motorcycles. It's the one in the BLUE container not the white.

The one you are alluding to is the new shell ROTELLA T Triple Protection Technology 15W-40 - not a fully synthetic oil.

The 15w-40 is a dino oil. The 5w-40 is classified as a synthetic but it is a class III synthetic which means it is made from super refined dino base stock.
