I get this all the time on the VFR forum that I visit since I had VFRs for 10 years and three different generation. Wow something made me change to the Sprint.
They seem like a decent lot. Overall I found them to be polite and respectful in their comments, as they should be when discussing a superior motorcycle like the Sprint.
Makes me feel good that they had mostly positive things to say. I still think our motors are the best street engines out there....twin down low power with power in the upper range like a i4....best of both worlds.
:goodpost: Bakwt, this was informative to read. When the dude said "fairing, luggage, power and handling", I assume he was listing his priorities in order of importance. If that's the case it would appear to be a very succinct illustration of the difference between FJR riders and SPRINTers IMO. I think we place much more importance on dynamics. I don't think, from what I've seen on this forum in the past, that we have any anti FJR feelings, which is good.
I just get the impression that they don't have a joke posting thread or mentality .
That they are Dave. I agree about the pillion comment. Interesting thing about that to me is it shows you need to RIDE a bike to know it. That makes me wonder what misconceptions we have based on our external view of another brand. To be honest I think our misconception is less than the FJR group for a couple of reasons:
1) TriumphRAT is about Triumphs not just one model so we've got a bit of diversity here anyway (even if we have to invade your Sprint forum)
2) Most RATs have ridden other bikes. A lot of tourers/cruisers haven't ridden much else. This gives us very wide range of experiences to draw on.
3) A lot of us are old farts and therefore have ridden lots of bikes
4) The experiences gathered from above, mean we don't suffer fools easily. If a post is pure BS and not tongue in cheek they get a tongue lashing from the older and wiser heads.
All the above, in my exceedingly humble opinion, means that us Trumpy riders are the most balanced, contented and knowledgable folk on "real world" riding you're likely to find. Not that I'm biased of course
Russ (off for a long w/e with the family - you can all have a break from my BS for a few days)
