Question for Corbin owners

With a Corbin seat on the 05 and newer, do you lose any leg room?. Does it sit lower- higher or what.. Thanks bete..

Answer really soon!

I ordered a Corbin G&L for my 2006 two weeks ago (at a good discount). When I emailed Corbin requesting recommendations to accomodate my 6'3" height and 34 inseam, I received this reply:

Thanks for writing. With this seat, you might want to add 1" to 1.5"
on the overall height so that your legs don't sit cramped and you're feeling like you're squatting on the bike. Do keep in mind that our seats are built 1" lower but with a wider platform to sit into, so you'll feel like you're slightly higher as it is (but not by much).

I went with the 1.5" incresase. I should have the seat late this week or early next and will report on how everything works out.

I have the Corbin on my 06, and it does sit about an inch lower .. mainly since the seating area seems to sit a bit flatter/wider than the stock seat.

It sat me lower ... about an inch as others have said.

'Course, I'm 5'9" with a 29" inseam ... so I was pretty grateful for that. Now I don't have to get on the sprint from a curb ... *hah*

Corbin

I have dealt for years with Jenny at Charlie's formerly Benjy's Harley Davidson in Charleston, WV. Jenny runs a great mail order (phone call) parts business for not only genuine HD parts but for just about any company associated with motorcycle parts. 20% discount is the norm. I normally place orders for HD parts for a friend in Belgium who picks up her order when visiting the states; when placing the last order I asked if she discounted Corbin as well. Once again, 20% was the answer.

She is GREAT!

Hope this helps.

Got the new higher Corbin

I received my new Corbin seat (modified to be 1-1.5" higher than stock). It was very easy to install.

Went out for a 150 mile ride today. The seat is hard but is more comfortable than stock right away. The new height, given stock Corbin is lower thus making my "custom" about equal to stock, doesn't make much difference. I'm still experiencing knee pain (not enough to quit riding) after 100 miles or so.

Bottom line is I'm happy with the purchase although I wouldn't recommend it to a tall rider looking for a little more leg room.

Anyone have any ideas on reducing knee pain?

Thanks.

Corbin Seat

Today I met a rider who had a 06 Sprint with the Corbin Gunfighter/Lady. These seats can be totally custom made and can be tweeked any way you might want. My question would be - how to tweek when you just don't know exactly what you may want. I am 6'00 235lbs with a 32 inseam. He had ordered his in the hashed pattern with the ashalt sides and no leather. The seat can be ordered in the standard "Flat" or "Cupped" (like a bowl, I guess). Other than that the "Flat" fit me great with the standard lower bars. I was not leaning forward in an uncomfortable position. My bike has the higher 07 bars installed and I have been cutting the stock seat and find that minimal padding (for me) is best. I will order the Corbin at some point. An electric knife works best to cut the foam. Forget a razor blade. JOHN

I'm 6'1" or 6'2", 180lb, 34" inseam, and I'm crouching like a hidden tiger on this bike (with the Corbin). Gonna have to do something about that. My right kneecap is constantly bruised from riding, and my lower back is starting to feel some stress, even though I constantly move around and do the typical pro-ergonomic stuff (chicken wing arms, support on balls of feet, grip with index finger and thumb, etc.)
