"BIKE" Magazine article of top 150 bikes

There was an article in "Bike" Magazine at Barnes and Noble that I looked at (current newsstand issue) that showed the top 150 bikes based on performance, value for money, and fun factor...they had 7 panel judges from the magazine and the Triumph brand bikes did really well. The #1 bike listed was the Honda CBR...but in second place was the triumph speed triple followed by the tiger in 3rd place and the sprint st made it at number 19. Not to shabby I thought....and the experts all agreed that the triple engine is the best engine out there...they give it 10 out of 10 and its considered the "benchmark" engine for the street.

I love "Bike", but you have to keep your eyes open for their English bias. I tend to agree with them though.

hi

when you say `english bias` do you mean in the same way that `easyriders` has an `american bias`.
or could it just be that the `english` now make a handful of the best bikes that are currently available, for reasonable money, and which can compete to some degree with whats on offer from our japanese friends.

cheers

The motorcycle icon is the Ducati 916 and it's descendants. No question.

I can't argue with you. That's why I have a Sprint!

Just seems the U.S. mags (since no good sport bikes or sport tourers are built here) have less conflicts of interest when it comes to rating these type of bikes.

But, they probably are influenced by their advertisers so I guess you just have to be aware of these issues when reading their reviews.

It is undoubtedly one of the most beautifully bikes ever made, and also one of the most troublesome of them;-)

But still it is eye of the beholder, and even though Ducati makes nice bikes, I will still not trade my ST in for one of them......

The stable mate to my 998 is my '04 Sprint RS. Can't tell you how lucky I feel to have two bikes....especially these two.

It's interesting that in the article they gave the engine 10/10 on the Tiger and Speed Triple but only 9/10 for the Sprint
