The problem with working next door to a triumph dealer

Well it has its perks to work next door to a triumph dealer, as if I need a part during the week I just go over and pick it up....but lately its just buying accessories...new seat, touch up paint, extra filters/brake pads/clutch cable, to have at home when just in case you go for a ride on a sunday (when the dealers are closed) and low and behold you have the right part in your garage.
Now I am eyeing some of the triumph clothing gear...jeans/leathers etc...a guy can go broke living next to the dealer.

And it is truly amazing how we can justify the purchase of each and every item to our spouses isn't it. I feel your pain - dealer is right in the red zone on the way home

know what you mean.

I work 5 minutes away from one and find I have to either pin it past or wheelie past.

I always honk a friendly toot just so they know they are in my heart.

add this into the mix. the wife is an accountant and calculates how much I spend on my addiction.

Here's a thought...

Quit your job and work at the Triumph dealer.

Whatever you may lose in salary, you might just make up in product discounts.

Unhappy My new obsession

I know what you mean. My Triumph dealer is right on my daily route home. Since buying my America four months and four days ago, I always think about the next accessory or apparel item I want to get next. The Triumph sign seems to be beckoning me to stop by to gratify my need. Like a siren singing in the distance, even when I'm lying in bed at night, it seems I can't turn off the thoughts (only a slight exaggeration). I ask myself, "What do I want for Christmas, for my birthday, next Father's Day?!!! New gloves, riding boots, jacket, chrome, chrome, chrome!!!!!!! I didn't even think about motorcycles prior to my new machine.

I'd love to work for my dealer. They're always busy, they have a low employee turnover and everyone is always in a good mood when I walk into the place.

Well I work in my other addiction (sports cars). I work for a Porsche dealer in sales...so when I need parts for my Porsche im right here (taking advantage of the discounts for parts...as Porsche parts are higher than my triumph parts). So I do have a fun job on the automotive side of things...its either Porsche or Ferrari sales for me.

It sounds like you are well on your way to becoming a Triumph dealer yourself with a nice inventory. Do you have a an 800 number that we can call when we are in Connecticut and in need of parts? What's the forum discount

Well ricster it's even worse when you work at a Triumph dealer. In order to keep the wife happy I try to have some money left in the paycheck, but being around all that stuff all the time is very tempting. Maybe after awhile it will be like aversion therapy and I won't want to buy anything anymore....naaaa!

<....not married (lol) If I was...I think I would need a Mail Order bride who spoke no english and I could keep her out of the loop..so I could do what I wanted 100% of the time....but thats not reality..."sigh"

Ricster

ps: ever notice women like the guy who has the toys...but as soon as you get involved with a woman in the marriage sense..they want you to sell your toys...you cant win
