Very nice! Never did it myself, but I can see how that will pump my adrenaline levels up. One of these days I'll try it.
What kind of speeds do you hit?

Ya.. trackday was a trip on the Sprint.. I had a blast. Only thing I'd do differently is probably go down a tooth on the front sprocket to get a little more oomph coming out of the turns

And I did mine on Conti Road Attacks

Nice video - Definitely looks like you used the entire right side of your rear. Well done as most first time trackers are very hesitant on right handers. You now have a major problem - addiction!!!!!! You will now want to do more and more and find yourself going down that dark tunnel that has claimed so many marriages - the need to lower your lap time. First it will start with a visit to the Pirelli truck - or whichever rep is at the track for softer rubber. Your time will come down not by tenths, but by seconds or 10 seconds - you get hooked more now you need to try a qualifier Wow a few more seconds. Next track day you now have new suspension components to fiddle with along with the new rubber you purchased just for this day - OK times keep getting better, but eventually hit a wall - now you go the say the Freddie Spencer school in NV (man never knew there was so much to this racing stuff) now you have new found knowledge and more ability to use even more new rubber and suspension components ---- You see where this is going don't you -- Yup wife is long gone because the electric was shut off because the check bounced due to the new Ohlins rear you bought last week but didn't write down in the check book for fear of the confrontation with now gone significant other ------------------- Yet still the grin on your face can not be chiseled off because your lap times have one again improved -- addicting yeah I would say so.

Track Day - "A Good Thing"

I had my first track day 3 weeks ago; took my '06 Thruxton down to Summit Point WV. WHAT A BLAST. Out of 80 or so bikes, I was one of perhaps 3 bikes that had a license plate! I couldn't believe all these guys (and gals) had race-only bikes (or maybe just trucked them in?). I rode my down to the track.

WOW THAT WAS FUN.

Pic attached. Yeah, I know my line sucked in that pic, but it sure as hell was fun!

And yeah, I'm going back. As I'd like to keep the wife, I'll be limiting myself to once a month at the track. Until, you know, I go more ;-)

In a few of the pics, it looks like the side kick stand will be the first to scrape the pavement. Does that make sense? I always thought it would be the foot-rest-chrome-peg that sticks off the bottom. Anyway, scrapped my boot twice but not the metal parts.....

What a blast.

They were Conti Road Attack. They worked awesome on the track; I love these ties!
Most corners were 30-50 mph and the short straights hit 70-80. The front straight I was hitting 130. This track is a very technical track with alot of corners that you have to think about to get around. It is a blast to ride on!
We weren't allowed to keep track of our times for this event (more of an instruction\have fun thing than a racing thing), but looking at some of the video, I was around 2 mins; racers are around 1.20 or so.
I went down a tooth in the front sprocket about a month ago; I am glad I did. It as made the bike alot better. I don't notice more power, what I notice is the powerband starts alot earlier.

Tires

Awesome...I run Road Attacks on my 01 but I've never done any track days...Just the run of the mill CO switchbacks and canyons. Good to know these tires will hold up under pressure.
