I thought I would celebrate the Fourth yesterday by taking a brief ride. To celebrate anything is as good a reason as any. I donned my mesh jacket, new Tourmaster mesh pants, boots, gloves and Shoei helmet, mounted the Sprint, and headed to one of my favorite local roads. Short in lenght, but some nice curves.(an apt description, I know, for other pastimes). Upon approaching a lefthander, I saw two lads on the shoulder of the road peering at their UJM sportbikes. I must have missed the latest fashion e-mail for UJM attire for they were wearing white T shirts and kacki shorts. I couldn't tell if they were wearing flip flops. I waved , braked for the corner, and went on my way thinking at least they got to see a proper motorcycle and a rider wearing proper gear. Whether the example was absorbed, one will never know.

Ya know, after all the ATGATT rants that have appeared in the last 6 weeks or so (deservedly in most cases,) I'm not even going to open that can of worms. They'll learn one way or the other.

Cheers,
