So I did a little surfing (I know, I'm supposed to be working...) for windscreens. I'm thinking about installing a taller/touring screen. I commute about 600 miles/week mostly on the interstate, plus some pleasure riding and errands.
What do you all know about (and comparisons) Zero Gravity Touring screen, Givi touring screen, Cee Bailey ($$$ and too many choices in sizes!), MRA Touring screen, and Laminar lip regular or touring?
Thanks!

I've had the Cee Bailey's on my '01 for a while now, and I still love it! You can see pics in my photo Album. I'm 5'8" and the wind and rain and bugs all go over my face shield with a little bit of slop hitting the top of my helmet. If I lean down a bit it's even better... The material is nice and thick which really keeps everything steady. I had the Triumph Touring shield before this one and it really bounced around and threw all the bugs straight into my face shield. Good Stuff!

MRA's are a work of art. I wouldn't consider anything else after the years I've had behind these.

Been using the Laminar Lip on my RS for a few years now, and really appreciate it's functionality.

You guys are not helping! Everybody likes what they've gotl; and it is all different!
Charlie, I'm almost your size (5'7"). What size screen did you get? BTW, where are you in CT? I grew up in Stamford, and worked three years in W. Hartford a while back.

i'm 6' and i like the stock one personally. I had a ZG Touring one on it for a bit, but I didn't like the way it directed the air over my helmet, and it blocked too much air IMO, especially for summer riding.
I may try a double bubble down the road, as I am commuting alot more lately. but i am a bit broke at the moment.

Well , Medic09 so far everyone loves thier windscreen expierence. So i'll post this to balance the inputs.
I'm 5'10 and tried a CE Bailey 16.5" and found that it created more turbulance at helment height than the stock screen (2000 ST). For me the noise was so annoying that I sent it back ( thats with earplugs , which I have always used). The quality of thier product is very good, however it seems to be very individual as for the success of removing one's self from the wind. So I'm back to the stock screen preffering the turbulance below my helment. I've noticed from this forum that many riders have tried several types and brands before finding what works. GOOD LUCK.
Jake

I'm getting a Givi Touring Screen for my '01 RS next Wednesday. Based on what I saw online, most of the screens seemed to high to me. I'd like to still allow some air to hit me to take some weight off my wrists, but want a little better protection than the stock screen. I'll let you know how it works out for me.

I agree with what VeedonFleece said. Every rider is different. To get a perfect opinion is near impossible. I will add in my experience with windscreens. I will stick to the 04 (1998-2004) model
I started 40 Sprint life with the stock screen. I liked it just fine. I don't mind wind in my face at all. I like the feel of the wind. Since I wear a full face helmet and ear plugs, the wind can feel pretty good.
I bought this bike for my wife. For her to go riding with me requires her to be conmfortable. If the motorcycle is a pain to ride, she will not go with me.
I then ordered a factory 04 screen as an accessory. That was the taller type with the reverse bend at the top. This screen came with both good and bad.
The good was that it did blcok a lot of wind. This was great when the temps were cool. However, living in Tucson, blocking the wind became too hot in the summer. In fact, at certain speds, it blocked too much wind causeing more engine heat to be sucked up into the rider's face. NOT GOOD!!
The two negative things with the teller windscreen were these. When we were loaded for camping, under certain conditions, the fornt end went into a speed wobble. This never happened with the lower stock windscreen.
Next was the vibrating mirrors and side wings to the fairing. The taller windscreen made this even worse. So, I had to do some thinking............
I then cut 3.5 inches off the top of the taller winscreen. I made this the same height as the side wings of the fairing.
I am calling them "side wings" because I can't think of a better name.
After doing this, my wife and I have spent two years with both of us riding this motorcycle. Gone is the speed wobble. I get a tiny bit of wind in my face, whcih I do like. My wife (who is shorter) gets very little wind.
I like what I did to my windscreen.
John
