Gidday to everyone. Am a brand newby to the site. Great pics and forums.
I have just recently got married to a 2004 RS but due to the weather we have yet to enjoy the honeymoon .
Only 9000k's on the clock and a 4 hour nonstop ride home in torrential rain and 100km plus winds. (SHE LOVED IT.).
I have found this particular model a bit hard to get some general imfo on, so I am keen to hear from others that may have one. Cheers. :chug:

Welcome to the forum coldkiwi

You have a lovely example of the RS in the 04 SSSA

Briefly, the 04 SSSA RS was the "atypical" runout of the pommie model. They "allegedly" had a fire in the RS component area of the factory and melded the DSSA RS in to the model that you have.

The RS was not the success that Triumph wanted and developed the ST into the new model (05 onwards) that it is today leaving the poor country cousin sadly in it's wake.

Does it have the RS flash silver letters on the side? Some do, some don't..

What colour is it? and where the hell are the pics?? :-D

You'll love the growl of the triple - especially with some type of pipe on it BTW the ST pipes do not fit!! *****!!

pm me when you can if you need to know more.

They are a great bike..

Eh, if the '04 RS got the ST swingarm, then what it is that stops you fitting an ST exhaust? I thought the reason you couldn't fit an ST pipe to an RS was the DSSA...

I've posted this very same question re: my '04 SSSA RS and other listers have said the ST slipons fit just fine. Why wouldn't they?

Here is the link to the Staintune Sprint ST High Mount that I have on my 2004 SSSA RS. The exhaust fits great, but I had to do one minor mod to my RS. There is a bolt hole on the right side of the sub-frame that would normally be used for the hard bags. Triumph put a weld bead inside the bolt hole and I had to drill and tap the hole so I could mount the exhaust canister. After pulling off the rear body work, this was a ten minute job. The Staintune exhaust looks great a really sets off the SSSA.
