Grip heaters redux

OK, I am new to grip heaters, they are very nice! The OEM ones, is the grip wired, or is it a sleeve? My question being, can I remove the handgrips and replace them, and still keep the heated portion? I know other add-on grip warmers are a wrap type deal, but sure about the Triumph OEM's.

If i can remember, the heated grip comes in a new throttle tube and they are glued on. I'm not too sure about the left side.
