I'm thinking of buying this Radiator and oil cooler guard.

Any thoughts on this??
Does someone have these already installed??
Are they worth the money??

Other Motorcycle: I wish
I have a RadGuard made in Australia.

They are now available for the 1050 engined Sprint and have a nifty Vee piece for the bottom of the belly pan.

Rad Guard site

They are available in black or silver.

pic of mine in my album.

I have both rad & oil cooler guards installed. I don't remember the brand and I'm not home for a few days to look it up for you. There are only maybe 2 brands available through the web, it is the less expensive brand, I think from Britain.
You find out that they are worth the money if you don't have them installed and a rock goes through your rad when you're miles from anywhere.

I had a set from here on my Falco and they were great - looked good and when I took them off there were a couple of large dings in them that might have resulted in serious radiator damage.
My son and daughter got me a set fro the ST 1050 for my birthday, but I've not fitted them yet.
Excellent vfm easy to install
:-)

Thanks guys.

@DaveM
I really like the vee piece. Buying them in Australia would make it a bit to expensive with all the extra charges I would have to pay.

@jeffster
If there are only two brands, I think you have the same as Whoosh. I know they are worth the money for protecting the rad. I had guards installed on my former bikes. I wanted to know if these particular ones are worth the money.I am sorry I did not mention that clear enough.

@Whoosh
Thanks for the links. You have nice children for getting you this for your birthday. My birthday is in August and I started to drop the term "Gel seat" already. Hope it kicks in :-D
As for the guards, I am going to ask the seller how these are installed. I don't want to drill any holes in my bike.
At least I have a choice now.

btw, does vfm mean value for money ?

vfm value for money
the guards come with small cable tie wraps and some fine wire - where there is a big enough gap use the black plastic wire ties, where not use the fine wire. (as per review article)Don't need to drill any holes and if you have smal hands you may not need to remove any panels for access. Took me about 20 mins on the Falco for oil guard and 2 radiator guards. Have not done the Sprint yet

Woosh,

I mean the seller of the Fab guard.
I have read the review article but somehow I like the looks of the Fab.
I would like to have a choice and just want to know how the Fab are installed.
As for the vfm, the guards you mention are almost halve the price of the Fab, so I probably will be going for those.

Ola (Bueno) Umberto,
Yes, they were the Mike's grilles (grills). Fast shipping. Fast, EZ, tidy install. $104.31 back in May, '06, not cheap for the simple things they are. However, I might add, they were the grills of my dreams !!
