Stiff throttle? 2000 st vs. friends 2001 speed triple

I was talking to a friend with a speed triple and asked if his throttle seemed stiff
he said give it a try
I could easily twist his throttle with the end of one pinky where as my throttle will actually make my wrist sore after a long ride
is it normal to be that stiff or do I need to do an inspection and lube job

The easiest way is to try to get some thin machine oil down the end and let it drain through.

The proper way is to remove it, clean it with petrol, drip oil down the tube then replace the cable.

Either way it needs a lube.. :-D
