Well, I have the bank's paperwork for my new ST. All that's left is to take the check and my '05 Speed Triple down to the dealer in exchange for the ST. I am in an odd position, though: I can honestly keep the S3 and be relatively happy or pick up the ST and be relatively happy too. Both bikes are great at what they do, but for me they are aimed at mutually exclusive targets. If I could have the ABS, wind protection, hard luggage and passenger accommodations of the ST on the S3, I'd be happy. Conversely, if I could have the suspension, brakes and steering leverage of the S3 on the ST, I'd be happy too.

Decisions, decisions. . .

I had to make the same decision.

riding all year made the decision for me. but I spend a lot of time wanting an S3.

the sprint is a great bike just the same.... but like you said the 2 bikes are so different.

I need both.

oh... while I'm dreaming..... and a motard. that new duck one.
any colors fine. Im not picky

I repeat " I need them" not just "want them" :-D

these have been the inner thoughts of a hooligan.

Yep they are hard to compare - I may have got an S3 instead of a sprint if most of my riding was around town with no long stretches on the highway and I had no intention of carrying a passenger and / or luggage...

As for needing bikes - I need:

a 1098s in black
a 675 in black
a 1050 Tiger in black
a S3 in black
a small dirt bike...

oh yes and another garage to house them all...

I'm collecting funds if anyone wants to contribute...

You might want to consider adding the 2008 KLR to your list....Kaw FINALLY updated the engineering...

So, in my garage I would like a ST, S3, KLR and some two-stroke.

Duckie - you seem to have a little thing for black. And dirt.

Is there anything you'd like to share with the group ??

I'm going to pick up the Sprint during lunch tomorrow; the dealer is not far from my office downtown. It's been unbelievably hot the last two weeks and I've ridden every day to and from my office; those miles have given me a greater appreciation for the comfortable seat/ergonomics and ABS. Today on my way home from a construction meeting a freak storm popped up about two miles from my house with high swirling winds and the first rain we've seen in weeks. I cannot tell you all how slick it was and how that affected my braking; I locked up the front a couple of times just trying to gradually slow down in those two miles.

I'm going to hate those tires (BT020) and it's going to take me a while to get used to the new ride, but switching to the Sprint is the right decision and I'm happy about it.

One good thing is you will not have to hate those tires for long. They will be worn out in no time and you can get some good tires.
