Just got an 07 ST. Had the BT20s on my FZ1 (from factory) and had a couple slips. They did not inspire confidence.
I ride the ST pretty aggressively at times ***BUT*** I live in flat, flat South Florida (no mater how hard you corner your tires still get flat in the middle).
Everyone seems to be happy with the Pilot Road. Was thinking of just changing them out even though the bike is brand new...
Thoughts???

seems a big waste of money to just throw them away unused - at least use them for the break in period if nothing else...

If I didn't have to turn corners the BT 020's are "OK" -just IMO
I used to do hard, fast, 2 up riding in the twisties and never liked them.
The front tends to chatter into corners and the rear feels like it wants to break loose. (that's a bad thing!!)
I have just had my third BT014 fitted to the back just yesterday. They are streets ahead in instilling confidence and they get great (reasonable when compared to the 020) mileage.
I was going to go for the Pilot Powers 2 or possibly 2 CT but I have heard (on this site and others) of delamination at speed. (that's also a bad thing!!)
I'll leave them alone until someone else tests them for me..

I have felt the same at least once but I was running too much pressure in the rain. I'll run mine out and replace them with something else.
If you decide you can't take it any more, practice smokey burnouts until you're down to the cord.
This is best done at stoplights next to high school kids with backward baseball caps in old Civics with coffee can exhaust tips.
You bought the bike for fun. You paid for the tires. You might as well have fun.
Don't get arrested though... :???:

I do a lot of corners on the bike, and I'm tempted to get a set of something a bit more sticky, but I do commute now and again so I don't want to square off the centers. I have 2300 miles on my bike so far, and the BT020s are still in good shape - I've been considering buying something sportier but keeping the BT020s as spares.
I have no idea what kind of tires to get, though. Something sporty like pilot powers or metzeler M1s or M3s.

@TheNomad
That was one of the issues I negotiated when buying the Sprint. On my former bike I had the BT 020 and didn't like them at all. So when I found out that the Print had these on from the factory I insisted they changed them for Pilot Roads 2. As the BT 020 were not used yet, this was no problem.
I got my new Sprint with the PR2 at no extra cost.

I wish I would have looked into that when I bought my Sprint. I hate these tires but I'll deal with them until they wear out. Then I'm getting a set of Pirelli Diablos. I loved those tires on my previous bike.

It's quite strange really, here in the UK the 020's are quite highly regarded as a good all round "tyre" :-D and people fit them time and time again hesitating to try something new. I think the 020s are now being replaced 021s but a lot of people are talking about the Road Pilot 2s as being a good tyre now.
I've always had them on the Fazers aside from a brief mad bit on Metzeller Z4s which are death hoops and have them on the new Sprint 2k miles in and looking and feeling fine but I commute mainly so dragging my knee in corners although possible isn't part of my daily ride.
When my current 020s run out I'll be trying road pilot2s just out interest.

I decide that I didn't like the BT20 after about 3,000 miles, but left them on until they were used up.
I replaced them with Pilot Powers. I've only got about 200 on them, but I can feel a huge difference already.
I'm getting ready to do a ride up to CO and Moab, I'll let ya know more once I get back.
