Full tank, Fuel Gauge doesn't come off the peg, low fuel light solid on.

I tried hittin every bump I could find thinking maybe a stuck float, but no joy.

Any experience here lads ?

Cyn,

The fuel sender is an occasional failure item. Unfortunately, it's in the tank so the tank needs to be removed and the plate on the right side taken off. On the bright side of things, if it failed completely, the engine warning light would also come on, so at least that hasn't happened.

If you do wind up replacing the sender unit, you should also replace the fuel filter (if you haven't yet).

Your sensor unit should be the ball in the tube design. quite possible it is stuck. May have to drain the tank and pull the sensor and try fiddling with it outside the bike.

If you get it out and find that the ball moves but still doesn't work, it could be toast. Should be able to use a multimeter and read the resistance on the leads as the ball rises.

That's about all I know on that design

But if a connector had come off would it give the symptoms I described ?

Loose connector should also throw a code and check engine light.
