So my TOR can arrives yesterday and I decide to put it in tonight instead of waiting for the weekend. It takes me about 45 mins G/T to get the bike apart enough to swap out the can and put it all back. Except for the seat. Holy SH#T it took me an hour + to get that thing back on. The left hex bolt went straight in but the right had other ideas. I kept taking it out of the seat and it would screw right in but put it back and it just wouldn't line up. Finally I took the clip off and bent it a little flatter (all the time fearing I would drop it down the back of the heat shield) and finally got it in.

Man I'd heard the horror stories but now I know.

Sadly, I didn't notice much difference in the TOR can than the stock. I only started it up (too late to ride tonight) and I haven't remapped/tuned yet so we'll see what happens after that.

Sleeping now.

The little sneaky screws actually back out when you ride!
Happened to me on my most recent 820 mile day.
I trained myself to get the screws in under a minute...and this is my reward!!

I bent one of the little retaining clips, which has definitely increased the time it takes to put the seat back on. Used to take about 5 minutes, now it takes 3, but I can only put one bolt back in.

I did burn the incense and lit the candle, but perhaps my sacrificial offering of PJ1 in the small can was insufficient to satisfy the riding gods. :-D Or did I insult the "Seat" god by offering a "Chain" god gift?

Really, if it had been a real complex process, I would've had plenty of patience but the endless head-banging of getting literally "the final screw" in was infuriating. It's like drawing the jack through ace of spades and the nine of hearts... :-D :-D

Several of us have never had a problem with the seat. There must be some kind of flaw in some of the seat hardware but not all of it.

I think it is relative to excess pressure applied to the clip nut and misalignment of the allen wrench durring removal. Then the resultant clip misalignment is not noticed prior to reinstallation.
It is a piece of cake, if it is done correctly. You just gotta be smarter than the machine :-D
