I'm considering a new Sprint ST and wondered if there was a peg lowering kit available for it that would accommodate my 36" inseam a bit better. What mods have other tall guys made to improve long haul comfort on the ST?

Buell XB pegs fit the pre '05 models...don't know about the newer style. They offer about an extra inch of leg room.

If I had a 36 inch inseam I wouldn't even look at the sprint, but I would so be all over the new tiger. Better suspension, brakes, same great engine, what's not to love about it. Oh and a way more comfortable riding position. Shoot, get the tiger and ride the snot out of it.
Just my $.02

I'm 6'3" with a 36" inseam and I ride my '06 Sprint just fine. Longest day in the saddle so far was 480 miles (one day of a 5-day tour without complaint). It's not that I'm young and flexible -- I'm 53. I do a lot of mountain biking, however... try to stay in shape... I love my Sprint just as she is...

P.S. Although I have yet to scrape a peg, I know I've come close many times. Key word "yet." I would not consider lowering my pegs. If I didn't fit on the Sprint comfortably and I had a 36" inseam (former = no, latter = yes), I'd get the '07 Tiger. Now there's a tall man's machine.

I wouldn't mind getting more leg room, but that'll decrease ground clearance. My concern is that the Sprint already has no surplus of ground clearance. But a question, and this will probably sound stoopid, but if you put the Buell pegs on, how does that change the relationship of the pegs to the gearshifter and rear brake pedals ? Or are they adjustable also ? I just looked at the set-up and the gearshifter and brake pedals aren't adjustable, as far as I can tell. So that would mean that my feet would just be at a different angle to the shifter/brake pedal, right ?

Thanks guys...I had a '99 Tiger and it was among my favorites - except the wind noise eventually drove me to the BMW that I'm currently riding. That was before Cee Bailey and a number of other aftermarket shield suppliers had applications for the Tiger. If I could eliminate the constant buffeting of old, I'd likely get the new Tiger. Love that white!
I was considering a Sprint ST because my head would be in clean air. I'll be 51 later this month, and it's not uncommon for me to ride nearly 1000 miles in a day. When I'm dead honest with myself, I don't believe I could be comfortable all wadded up on the Sprint for that distance.

i lowered the pegs on my ltz400 atv and also raised the handlebars. 6'6" 223# the shifter in relation was a bit weird to begin with i lowered it abut 1.5in and i had to lift my shoe up a bit higher but after i got used to it it didnt really make a difference. i wear a size 12 shoe.

I put the Buell pegs on my '03 Sprint, and while they did provide a good 1 1/2" additional leg room, I took them off before trying to adjust the rear brake pedal. (I did adjust the shifter down to compensate) With the lower pegs I was easily dragging my left foot when it was under the shifter. This was in around town turns! Since I am 5'10" with only a 30" inseam, I switched back to the factory pegs. (Although the Buell pegs did feel better for my knees)
YMMV!
