2nd Space,
That's lookin' good at that lean angle with your pillion honey. I took the Princess Binky out tonight for coffee on the Sprinty and we got about the same lean going around the Fishhook (the transition from HWY 17 to HWY 1 in Santa Cruz.) But I always try to remember that ATGATT won't prevent serious blunt trauma injuries, among the most common and most fatal to motorcyclists, so I always try to ride not over 80 % of my capabilities.
Just my $.02.
jeff
Ahh, you're a lucky man 2ndSpace!! A woman who pillions AND rides...doesn't get much better than that. Oh, and I like the red windshield screws too, nice touch.

Dude! Save the preaching. In the same post you say that you were at the same lean angle then you imply that riding that way is not smart.
If you think like that get off the bike. I have a higher probability of getting run over in D.C. traffic than crashing while having a little fun. Its not how fast you ride its how fast you are going when you stop. I may have been doing 40 mph around that tight left.
That is a Killboy shot from Deal's Gap.

Nice pics. We got our pic taken by those guys too. I posted them in my profile. How do I put them up? Anyway, I took it real easy in the turns. I'm not that good of a rider. Great shots though. We are heading down for the Honda Hoot in June. Going to hit the dragon again.
2nd Space,
Sorry, you misunderstood my comment. I was NOT implying that riding that way is not smart. As I said, I leaned that same angle with a pillion passenger only yesterday. That's how motorcycles corner, through lean angles. If we DON'T lean them, they won't make the corner. And the more proficient we become, the more extreme the lean angles can become, up to the limit of the tires and the machine. My comment referred only to your mention about ATGATT, All The Gear All The Time, and my meaning was only that we should be on guard against a false sense of complacency that some riders feel when all geared up. Modern gear can go a long way to helping us out and minimizing injuries, but they cannot prevent, and were not designed to prevent, blunt trauma injuries. Our great hope is that we'll all always be going 0 mph (0 kph) when we stop. I am not disagreeing with you, only bringing up this one factor -ATGATT- of riding. It was not, is not, nor shall not be my intention to poop on the party !! Ride on, bros !!

Being a pillion at speed and / or great lean angles is one of the scariest things I've done (and the most exhilarating!)
I got the opportunity to ride 2 laps of Infineon Raceway on the back of Reg Pridmore's VFR (the photo below doesn't do it justice as it was taken on a fast gentle corner). Reg knows that track like the back of his hand and we were flying past other riders - it was like the rest of the riders were told to ride slowly or something - what a blast! :-D
