While I've been lovin' on my new ST, I find I'm not so crazy about the headlamps. I've checked out a few xenon/argon HID systems like XEBRITE but I'm just a bit clueless on these. Does anyone have some recommendations and good experiences with a particular supplier. It has to be available and legal in the US.

Can't help about US legality and availability. Just note than in general the more you pay the better :-D

I have found a good balance by doing the following:

1. Replaced the low beams with OSRAM Silverstars and re-aiming carefully so that the upper cutoff point splits the high beam circle in half.

2. Replaced High beam with HID/Xenon H7 conversion kit and re-aiming carefully so that I don't light the planes flying above :-D

I just replaced both on my '01 with Sylvania Silverstars (9003ST). They project a very crisp white light, and a huge difference from the stock bulbs. I paid $19.99USD each.

Hint: Do not shortcut the install. Remove the side panels and the retaining bolts for the nose (two H6 bolts directly beneath the ignition switch), and roll the front clip forward to gain easy access to the headlamp boots and retaining clips.

Get them HERE for a better price and better bulbs than the Sylvania produces. Buy the house brand and you will get to for the price of one and the difference is undetectable between the Osram's. The house brand is GE Mega White Plus. The Sylvania stuff is better than stock, but not as good as the European stuff. You get free shipping and it usually only takes 4 days to arrive.

I have had great sucess with PIAA replacement bulbs - Extremely bright for same wattage. Be careful not to get more than the recommended watts as the Triumphs wiring is notoriously delicate in this department

Remember that 05 and on have completely different lights, now single filament H7. I think the solution by NikosR is the only workable solution but can involve a few dollars for main beam, ie Xenon HID.
Cheers

I'm still waiting for someone to try dual filament H7 bulbs with a custom wiring harness to enable the normal lobeam lights to operate hi/lo beams... Maybe if I ever get more time to tinker with my bike I will try that one out...

Of course I maybe talking out of my behind as I don't know if you can even get dual filament H7 bulbs...

denman13-I have replaced my hi beam with an HID set up I found on ebay after extensive research.

The HID set up makes all the difference over t stock set up, not perfect, but in my mind you can never have enough light-night or day.

If you do go with an HID set up, use an OEM or quality sealed ballast. Do not use the cheap Chinese ballast that usually come with kits. The guy I bought my set up from sold me the D2S bulb , adapter and a Japanese ballast for a very reasonable price

If I had the three light setup on my bike like the newer Sprints I would vote for the setup NikosR is running. That's how I would do mine if I were in the position to do it. :upthumb:
