I don't blame you a bit. That's short-sighted on the part of both Fieldsheer and the retailer. Dumb.

To all in resgards to Fieldsheer....

It really bothered me reading about unummyu's zipper failure and the poor customer service offered by the retailer and Fieldsheer.

I wrote an email to them a week ago describing the problems he's had and hoped they would write back with news/information on how to resolve this.

I mentioned he posted the problem on the RAT.net web site and that all Trumph owners around the world are watching and waiting to see how they handle this.

Well, I still have'nt seen any response. The phone number I posted turns out to be a fax line. It would appear they (like so many others) really don't have the customers best interests in mind. I don't understand why this attitude seems to be so prevalent in the motorcycle industry.

Unummyu. At this point I think I would lodge a complaint with the California Consumer Affairs board. Sacramento does'nt take lightly to consumers being taken advantage of in this state and the manufacturer not standing behind it's own written warranty. Regardless of the fact you purchased via a web site or through the mail, I think they might be able to help you. Do a web search for California gov. offices and you'll find it. There is a web site for all the Calif. gov. offices online.

In the meantime, I'll write them again and suggest to anyone reading that if they attend the International Motorcycle Shows and find a Fieldsheer booth there, they should make it know they have lost the confidence of thousands of active RAT web site members.

You too can express your displeasure by writing them. I think if enough members do, it should get a point across.

Thanks Dan'l I get the jacket back from the tailor Thursday and head to the Dragon Saturday for four days so I am not quite as upset as I was.
I will email California Consumers Affairs Board. I guess it must be my age (50) I still want to believe that most companies give a s**t but guess I need to wake up and smell the coffee.
The dealer where I bought my bike Ridge Motorsports in Batesburg, SC, is an example of how business should be run. The owner, Jeff goes way above and beyond. My 3 month old bike's battery went dead, he sent me a brand new battery the next day no questions. Same with the turn signal lens, key blanks and outstanding prices on accessories. He is GREAT. Too bad he is becoming the mionority and he is 2 hours away.

unummyu.....What a mouthful!!

I'm beginning to have some SERIOUS reservations about the depth of character of Fieldsheer USA which I hate to admit to because they are one of the older British name in motorycyclcling apparel that had enjoyed a pretty good reputation......till now.

I wrote another note to them, pointed out that your message thread has spread to the other Triumph web site...triumphriderssite.com, triumphnet.com,st/rs and tsra.cc

Cumulative membership is 9,706 members world wide and they'd be foolish to ignore your concerns because all of the Triumph community is waiting...and watching to see how they choose to handle this.

Well, I've heard nothing. Apparently they have little interest in their customers satisfaction. I've my fingers crossed they will step up to the plate, take responsibility to repair/replace your jacket and win back my and many others confidence. But I'm beginning to think it's just not gonna happen.

That's a real shame because they really did represent a good alternative to the silly squidly stuff that is so poorly made but so heavily marketed. At least that stuff has a warranty.

Quality materials, safe armor and protection, and versatile use all means little if the manufacturer/distributor won't stand behind the occasional boo-boo.

Maybe, just maybe they'll try to redeem themselves, but I'm not holding my breath.

So...to the almost 10,000 members of the Triumph web sites, be forewarned that the good old Fieldsheer comapany ain't what it used to be.

Here is the latest regarding Fieldsheer. I spoke with Lenny at Brockton Cycle sales and he said that if I would have called him he would have returned the jacket for me. I didn't even buy the jacket from him!!! He said to me" I (Lenny) would only be out the freight charges, no big deal". How about that for customer service?? The guy was willing to send back something he didn't even sell. I swear, Brockton gets ALL my business in the future, I don't care if it is cheaper somewhere else (doubt it).
I never have spoken with a "real person" at Fieldsheer, always get the general mailbox. Haven't heard back from them anyway. Guess there is no need beating a dead horse bottom line with me is that Fieldsheer has ZERO customer service. Unless you get it from a dealer that will stand behind it (like BROCKTON) beware buying Fieldsheer.
