I am hunting down an ST, and haven't found this info yet. Is there a fork brace on ST's? If not, is one available? Does the bike come with stainless front brake lines? And lastly, what is the lighting like? Is the bulb decent, or an H4 type? I searched here, but didn't find anything. Thanks!

Bought an 04 ST in May of this year, don't know what a fork brace is so can't say there, mine hasn't got stainless hoses though, and in the UK the lighting setup is crap. Just one side on for low beam and the other for main. Adding another couple of relays sorted this out though

I remember reading here somewhere that the brake lines are stainless, just with a rubber covering. Have not verified this yet. Lighting should be upgraded to H4's and normally a new bike needs to have the lights adjusted up wards. They do a great job 15' in front of the bike!!! In the US tho, both lights are lit on low and high beams.
Also no idea about fork braces.
Love my ST!

The brake lines ARE stainless, just covered by rubber or whatever. The stupid crossover line between the front calipers could be problematic. Replace it with a separate line from the master cylinder to eliminate spongy brakes. The lights are average at best. H4 bulbs. Many people put higher output bulbs in. No fork brace. No adjustments aside from preload on the forks. Lots of people like the Race Tech emulator upgrade for the forks.

Hi Kelticwolv,
As stated earlier the lines are teflon lined stainless steel with a black rubber coating to prevent marring and it actually looks better longer.
I ride the fire out of my Sprint and it doesn't need a fork brace. Also the stock springs are just fine, even for mach1 driving. If you feel they are not right try adjusting the suspension before replacing it. Much cheaper and easier.
The Sprint is an awesome bike, hope you find one and enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine.

As far as the lighting I find it much better than my old bike ('90 FJ1200) and perfectly adequate. I plan on adding driving lights in the future - more for bling and cool-factor than anything else, but they certainly will add to my conspicuity.

I have reached an agreement on an 02 Sprint ST. Just have to work out our schedules to pick it up (about 8-9 hours away). I appreciate all the help and info I've gotten here. Can't wait to get to know her, and intorduce her to my fun roads in NY.
