This morning on the way into work, I was behind a car at a 3 way stop and the car started to move and so I did too but then a car to his right decided he was going to go first (even though it wasn't his turn). The car in front had to stop suddenly and I did likewise. But I didn't grab the clutch quick enough and my bike stalled, so I push the starter but the starter didn't crank properly giving the almost dead battery sound, tried it again thinking 'oh no don't die on me!' and it gave me the same sound but thankfully it came to life on the third try...
Anyone else had a similar experience? Consider that this is a new bike about 5 weeks old and ridden almost everyday and this was near the end of my 30 min commute on a nice warm morning... any ideas? :???:

Since the bike is so new, you should have your dealer do a scan to check the alternator and, based on that, do a battery load test.

Yes good call - I'll take it when it gets back from getting the front end fixed.

Yeah, I read about your Racetechs in your other post. I'm jealous.

My bike has been doing weird stuff since I bought it.

Weird starts, gas gauges disapear, strange squeals as I pull away, wobbles as I slowed down, but then all goes away and never returns.

real gremlins in this bike. :hammer: :-D

Wonder if since it took a little jolt when it stalled if the started just didn't since the clutch was in fully. Not an electronics kind of guy so I am really just guessing on this one, but it came to mind fwiw.

I had an odd thing happen similar to that. I was stopping quickly for a turn and downshifting, but didn't get the clutch all the way in in first and killed it. I had enough momentum to get it started again but it was running like total *****!

I thought, uh oh, what happened to my baby?! Then, about 10-15 seconds later it cleared its throat and was good as new. I am guessing when you kill the engine like that, the ECU goes a little wacky and has to reset itself or something.

MVP44 - I'm sure it wasn't a clutch switch issue as the starter did engage just sounded like it was about to die (slow once over instead of fast and multiple turns)...

Cuyose - thanks, good to hear someone else has had something similar happen - I'm hoping you're right about it being an ECU hicup... I'll be checking in with my dealer just in case.
