what are you using for tankbags, and then how are you mounting them?

Solcat,
I have used a Triumph tank bag from the day I picked up the Sprint. I find it is a good bag with plenty of room to carry plenty of gear, and also comes with a day bag. It also comes with a tank cover that the bag attach's to.

I use the Triumph tank bag, as Tankman says it is fairly good solution, the only hassele is mounting the tank bra to which the bag attaches. It is a bit fiddely until you gat use to it, but then you are not taking on and off on a regular basis.

The bag attaches to the bra with 4 clips and velcro which allows you to unclip the front clips and tip the bag backwards for refuelling without totally removing the bag from the bike.

Works good for me

I enjoy Bags Connection's Engage Sport tankbag with fitment by SW Motech. Available from TwistedThrottle.com. The attachment system seems ideal to me -- it utilizes a ring that becomes affixed to the bike's gas cap ring. Nothing else touches the bike. Once the gas cap ring is attached to the bike, the bag itself is very convenient to remove and attach, and the bag itself expands.

Here it is

I use the 21L Cortech, strap mount over a tankslapper tank top kit. Great fit, doesn't interfere with my bike interface at all.

In general, if your going to do some touring and expect to need capacity beyond the pans, a large tankbag is the best way to do that and keep as much weight within your "load triangle" as possible... yields better handling. Trunks and tailbags are generally well outside of the "triangle". My $0.02 :-D
