I've picked up a couple of nicks on my wheels and frame. Anybody out there have any sucess with touch up paint for these items, and if so, what did you use?

OnD, while cleaning the rear I noticed I had picked up a few wheel nicks myself. I did see a past post with the same issues, but if I remember it died with wondering if the wheels were powder coated, which I don't believe that they are since powder coating is supposed to be a bit more resistant to wear and tear. Plus doesn't the coating provide a type of texture element to the finished product??? Anyway keep us posted, I'll try anything once, twice if she's HOT!!

I got some Mag wheel paint at the local auto parts store that was a good match. I used it to repaint the rear foot peg bracket on my RS after welding and polishing it back up. Not sure how it would work for touch up, it is metallic and that can be hard to get looking good with a brush.

When I asked my friendly Triumph dealer mechanic about wheel and frame touch up paint, he smiled and said, "fingernail polish".
All you need is two or three colors at the most, then blend to match the wheel or frame.

Rims are painted and clear coated. The anodized coloring has been done here on a few rims and looks nice but not shiny. Kinda a flat appearance because the aluminum is porous under the paint. You have to remove the paint to anodize. The anodized surface also loses air pressure on regular basis because the surface does not seal as well as the painted one.

It looks nice but not what you may expect and is further maintenance with air pressures.
