Fuse 8 keeps blowing? - Wont start...

Fuse 8 is the EMS ... I've checked both the coils and injectors off this circuit and all looks well.

I have also checked the wiring loom and have disconnected the usual faulty electrical components on these bikes such as the stator, regulator, etc to no avail.

Remove the EMS relay and fuse will not blow, the same if you disconnect the 'A' plug from the EMS..

I've run out of ideas... and suspect the EMS is faulty.

Any suggestions? Help! :)

Cheers ... Tried both suggestions and no luck.

I've also swapped the relay and no change ...

I've gone through wiring diagram and disconnected every circuit off the EMS fuse and still blows ... If I disconnect one of the plugs on EMS itself it no longer blows!

I've got a used EMS coming which has right plug sockets and keihin ... It's not an ABS one though - does this matter?

I assumed I would just need to upload right Map to it but now I'm not sure!

OK - so if does not blow when you unplug the ECU, that rules out the O2 sensor and Injectors and Coils and SAI & Purge connectors;
that leaves the 5V circuits and the ECU itself

The 5V serves the MAP sensor, TPS, ambient Pressure Sensor and Fall Detect Switch
Try unplugging each of these sequentially - or better unplug all of them: if does not blow fuse then reconnect each sequentially until it does.
If it still blows with all of those disconnected you may well have blown something (very possible the 5V reg) inside the ECU

There is no ABS-specific ECU, nor map difference for ABS vs std braking

Thank you! That really helps ...

I managed to find a used ecu for £55 so I've bought this and will be installing as most of the sensors are already disconnected but I will check those you mention ...

Seems this bike takes a keihin v1 ecu
