Devo, that's what I'm trying to do here.

The m1's are great tires, but if you are looking to get any kind of mileage out of your tires, m1's are probably not the way to go. I've found the Z6's to be as good as everyone said they were. But i also didn't mind the bt057's. I put about 2200 miles on the Z6's so far.

Don - thanks for the insight. My BT57 rear is trashed after 7000 miles, and front one was cupping too, so this was really helpful getting firsthand reports on the Z6's. I just ordered a set, and hopefully I'll get better wear and handling.

Well, I just had a set of Avon Azaros put on mine. Just rode it 20 miles or so home, so nothing to report. I'll report back after I get some miles on them. These replace the stock BT57's so it should be a definite upgrade.

PTG, Did you go with the 49/46 combo?

I have the 45/46 combo on mine.

Just got back from a 100 mile ride, but nothing much to report. I'm still being cautious, trying to scrub them in. I have noticed, however, that they don't seem to want to follow rain grooves though, which is good.

That's Kool. The ZZR1200 site recommends the 49/46 combo because the 49 is a much softer compound making better traction for the twisties. And it matches perfectly with the 46. Just to let every1 know.

Thanks for the input on the Z6's. They've gotten good press. The ZZR website also had a good reveiw of the Continental Road Attack. They're supposed to be pretty sticky and aren't a ton of $.

I've put a set of the Continental Road Attacks on mine. With almost 6k miles on the back and almost 3k on the front. I like them so far. I like them better than the BT57s. And I really didn't have any complaints about the BT57s except for the way the cupped.

General comments:

They haven't cupped like the BT57s did. They have done well in the rain. They grip well in the corners. The front is better planted with the Road Attack than it is with the BT57. I guess my only complaint is if you are in a corner and use the front brake, the bike likes to stand up. However, it doesn't stand up when I trail brake. They have worn pretty good so far. No cupping that I can tell. I still have a good amount of tread left. I imagine I'll get about the same mileage out of them as I did my BT57s of which I got 8.5k (tread bars were just starting to show) off of the rear and 11.5k off of the front. However, the front still had some tread left. But it was cupped pretty badly.

I can't compare them against anything else except for the BT57s.

FWIW and YMMV

Tom

Thanks for the feed back on the Conti's. I just ordered a set this morning. Hard to beat the price. I'll write more after I get them mounted.
