In this months UK Ride mag there is a whole section devoted to a rider survey, amongst the test was a tyre survey by members of the public (not riding press) The following results may be of interest.

BT020 9 place out of 50 different tyres
Avon Azaro ST 11/50
BT 57 28/50
Michelin MAc 100 39/50
Mezt 3 42/50
Mezt 4 46/50

The z6 are not mentioned, I assume that they are too new.
I'm pleased with my BT 020 alot smoother in the bends and warm up quickly.

Just replaced the 57's with the z6's. I had over 11k on the 57's and can honestly say I liked them. I had non of the odd wear issues that other people had other than i wore them out. I lost traction twice and that's only because i pushed them too hard when cold. I got about 300 miles on the z6's and really wont find out if i like them until this weekend when i head down to Deals gap. It's my first ride over 300 miles so I'm excited. Hope the weather holds out because 750 miles is a long ride in the rain.

Thanks Neil - I was just curious!

Dolson - I look forward to more updates as my BT57's are gettin' thin!! (I'm going to have to store the bike over the winter, so I'll have plenty of time to consider what to replace them with.... )

Another little update. Haven't been able to ride lately so only about 500 total miles so far.

Lately we've gotten into the start of our wet season so have been able to see the wet, dry, wet transitions in corners. Very good. One corner was a 35 mph advisory. Went X2+5 starting in the dry and in the blind went through a wet area for about 40 yards and back into the dry.

The wet handling was very important to me and I can say that they have been exceeding my expectations by a wide margin.

Dry is very sticky for a touring tire also.

Corners and curves you pick a speed, line and angle and the bike just goes there. Want or need to change your line, just look where you want to go. They track pretty accurately.

I'm glad I got them

I believe I'm going to get them for my next set. I talked to the metzeler rep at the triumph demo day this past weekend in Newnan, Ga and was pretty impressed with what they had to say. Plus they warranty their tires. For those that don't know. Thanks for the updates.

Hi All,
I am glad that I am not the only one that cooked the BT 57 in 6000 miles. I was behginning to think I was actually a squid and didn't know it. :-D That tire was actually not too bad. I still have the 57 in the front and I put a bto20 in the back. So far the 20 seems very stable and sticky. I have had my bike over enough that the people behind me were going OH SH!T!! But I never lost traction or control. I still want to try the Z6's at 12000 miles when I am sure the 020 will be toast.

I think the Z6 replaced the Z4. I've read some good things about it but haven't talked to anyone that bought them. I've used Metzelers in the past and had good luck. I'll probably go with the Z6 or the Sportec M-1.

Any feed back on either one on a Sprint would be appreciated.
