Been considering some form of theft deterrent before my long ride south to the Smokies. I was all set to get Lojack until I saw the price. Was quoted $750 for the base system and almost $900 for the best. As that is out of my price range I decided to try something else. Anyone know of a good alarm system. I'd prefer to have whatever system I do get professionally installed

RickyT,
good to see other Sprint owners in CT. I don't own this alarm but there are some reviews on this site.

usually if they are going to steal it they will carry it away.
so the only thing that is actually a deterant is sound.

1. expensive triumph alarm (I also once thought of it too )...
the short of it is: it won't stop them from carrying it away.
plus I wouldn't want the thing to cut my ignition due to a computer mishap.

2. the Xena for a $120 with a front disk lock and a 110 decible screamer. I have one works fine. more money for bike bling!

3. the other option is the pager alarm.... it goes off you come out swinging a bat in your underwear..... I don't recommend that either.
park it close to your room if possible... get the Xena.

4. if your riding in a group make sure there's some harleys... they like stealing those! LOL

if they take it.... well... thats why you insured it.

have a safe trip and a great ride!

I like that 02S3. But they would probably drop your bike trying to get off it. LOL

I'd go the disc lock and siren. If they want it they'll take it anyway.

Pay your insurance!!

I have the Scorpio alarm with the pager. It just plugged in to the bikes wiring. It works well and I like it. If you go on a trip don't forget to take the charger (it's small) for the pager. I also use the Xena disc lock with the built in alarm. I know I know, a belt and suspenders.

Mate!
I caught some feral trying to break into my shed one night. I then introduced him to the sharp end of my shotgun while the wife called the police. Just before they took him away I told him that I was an ex soldier and if anything when missing for my shed ever I'd find out where he lived and burn his house down with him in it. Seems to have worked never had a problem since. I also use an alarm and a disc lock and insurance. The point is if some piece of filth steals your bike and gets caught, don't get angry just get very even.

I have the Triumph Data tool S3 alarm on my bike.

You couldn't steel it without someone being deafened by the alarm and you can't move it or try to start it without disarming it first.

I had my alarm given to me by the guy I bought $1800 bucks worth of accessories for $450!

bakwheeltango,
the data tool alarm has a motion sensor, you cannot move it without the alarm sounding it's very loud racket.
