Well I took my sprint out for a long ride...117.10 miles today, it was a perfect day here in connecticut for one. I now have a whole 220 miles on the bike lol. I kept the rpm's maxed at 4500 rpm and did some sustained driving in 3rd gear at 4k rpm. I figure im doing a proper break in procedure. Anyway where does the crazy power come on in this bike..?? 6k 7k? :???: I stopped by at canton cycles on my way home and they adjusted my chain as it was loose. And they where kind enough to let me wash my bike as it was filthy from the standing water and sand in some placed I drove it. It now looks better than when I left this morning  But guys let me know where the crazy power band comes in on the bike...thanks

There is no power band, its not a 2 stroke, power is fairly linear through entire rev range,as for holding it in third gear for prolonged periods thats a no no, read your manual about break in procedure, for good break in procedure vary the revs and speed all the time, you will do more harm by keeping it at constant speeds than you ever will by exceeding the rev limit for a given milage

Breakin is torture. Crazy power comes after breakin when you wack the throttle open above 3k and builds from there. I went out this afternoon also only about 40 miles or so but it was gooooood

I didn't stay at 4k for prolonged riding I did vary it but I didn't exceed 4500 rpms. I didn't really need to get out of 3rd that much for the back roads I was doing...but I think I managed to get it into 4th and 5th but by that time I think I started to be too low on the rpm's given the speed. I think the fastest I hit was 70mph at one stretch on the highway. Geez I hope I didn't do any damage keeping at 4k for 5 miles or so on the highway :???:

Must be something about us Aussies Ruscock, the day after I got my bike did a trip upto Sydney from Melbourne on the caost road, day 1 1100klm, organised for the Triumph dealership in Wollongong to due an oil change and a quick check over the bike the following morning on the way home and that was two up.

The mechanic was not too pleased when I dropped the bike off, it was a bit on the hot side, bloody hot actually. New oil 1500klm on the clock got to give it some on the way home.
