mine was a Triumph part, was installed prior to delivery. Fit and finish is good, similar to other third party units I've put on other bikes.

I fitted a genuine Triumph one as soon as I got my '06 to reduce the amount of muck getting onto the fairing and radiator. It helps a bit. Triumph supply four black pop rivets to fit it, but no instructions. I took the existing fender (mudguard in UK) off to make it easier attach the extender. Fit is OK but as the extender is so low down it is not really 'on show'. UK cost was about £20.

mines the triumph item which I fitted myself
you have to remove the front mudguard to fit it as you have to drill 4 holes to align the mounting points.
I found the plastic pop rivets a pain at 1st but so far they have held. The whole job takes around 30 mins to do
