I've owned my Sprint ST for two years now and have had many good experiences and very few, if any, problems. Whenever I get off the bike or go for a ride after missing a few days, I find myself looking at it and thinking that I can't believe this is my bike. I guess what I'm saying is, the excitement is not only still there but getting better with each passing day of ownership.

I talked to one guy at a RAT rally and he said he's going to ride his Sprint until it dies! I feel the same way. At this point, I can't see myself owning anything else other than the Sprint.

My point is, are there any of you who can see yourself riding your same Sprint ten years from now? I know Triumph would love it if I bought a new bike every year but sorry Mr. Bloor, at this point, the Sprint stays. I'll continue to help Triumph sell more bikes by talking about how glad I am I bought mine!

Enough rambling, sorry about that. I think I'll go for another ride.
:-D

I've had my RS for 15 months (22K miles) I like it well enough, and could probably be happy riding it until it dies. That said, it's a toy/hobby, and it's always fun to get new toys. I could see getting something new/different next season (or the season after that), just to have something different, not because I'm not happy with the RS. Depends on what unfolds as the 2005 model year is announced. If something new starts seriously talking to me, I could see trading it in.

I see myself riding a Sprint ST for many years to come but not necessarily the current one. Colors, styles, gadgets change and I like new toys. Especially if the 2005 rumors are true it may be sooner than I thought.

I can see the sprint hanging around here for a very long time. We communicate very well, and love the same roads. I feel like Triumph made this bike just for me.
I bought my '89 hawk gt new and it's still here.
They really look nice together in the shed.

Im sure the 05 will be a better bike but really cant see it changing much for me.About 3 days after owning it I started to calculate exactly how many ks a year I would do and how long before it was worn out and would HAVE to be replaced.By my calculations I will be sick of the bike and want to get rid of it about 2 years after the Earth plummets into the sun.

There may be better bikes but there a none better for me.I even look forward to going to work just because of the ride. The only issue I can ever see is maybe at some point in the future I will need the money more than the bike.God save me from ever being that desperate!

Cheers
Neil

"Never say never" and all that...but...right now I'm with you, Kirk...

Thursday night around 11:00, I left work for home. It was different than the vast majority of my rides. At night, on the slab and no one around...

Simply...I was in Heaven. Just me and a beautiful bike and that luscious triple.

A few days earlier, Garry (see above) and I and a few others hit the WV twisties and I felt my bike was perfect for those roads...now I'm buzzing I-79 on an eighty degree night feeling like this beautiful beast could take me all the way to LA if I wanted...and right now!

No doubt other bikes will tease me. The Brutale is screaming my name....I'd kinda like a couple year old Ducati 900SS....TT600 would be great...Still have the hots for a BMW R1100S...and we have had track bike discussions in the Shootist household.

The RS styling will eventually seem quite dated. Will I be shallow enough to trade that away? I don't know yet.
But with the resale value on these not exactly being up there, my hope is that if other bikes come and go...the RS will stay...for at least as long as the lustful moments continue.

Kinda like the first year Miata I have. When I bought it in '89 it was the only thing like it out there. First there were imitators...then successors. Is it what I would buy today? Nah...but with a trade-in of about $4K at best...I'll keep my 30,000 mile mazda for as long as I can. Worth more to me than the money...and I still find myself smiling when driving it.

I'm planning on the RS doing the same for many, many years.

I was at my dealer, Southern Cal Triumph, this morning to get the fuel fittings on my ST changed under the recall. I asked about news on the new 05 models. He said he would have the dealer packets next week and to call him about the info.

I'm selling my Bonneville in preparation perhaps for a Speed Triple. Like many of you, I couldn't bear to give up the ST just yet.

I bought my ST in July 1999 and have almost 65,000 miles on her so far, am looking foward to celebrating 100,000 the summer of 2007. I'll probably keep her until I die, just add others for some variety.

This is kinda funny because I've been thinking about this. What bike would I get if I traded in the RS? I really like the Speed Triple and Kaw Z1000 but I do some long rides and a 500+mi day on one doesn't sound like much fun, don't really care for any of the repli-racers, I must be getting old as comfort now factors in  , I did try a Daytona out when I took the RS in for the fuel fitting recall... with bars the same height as the RS (about 2 1/2 in higher) I think that would make the top three on the replacement list, but my RS seems like it has better low to mid power, I know the 'Tona makes more HP and torque but it seemed very Japanese like, not much lowend with kick on top, which is great for racing but I don't race. A Ducati Multistrada feels nice sitting on in the showroom but I'd buy a family mobile before spending that much on a bike.
Final conclusion was I'd get a newer RS if anything, although the 'Tona with helibars made me wish for a few days :-D
