Tried googling to search the archives and found stuff on the '04 and before but nothing on the '05.

When I bought my Sprint I couldn't get away from having the back deck; too ***** useful on the KLR. I got the Triumph one, not really thinking about the cost since it was all rolled into the finance package.

After a recent visit back home, I'm eyeing a top box for the Triumph, and the standard appears to be the Givi. It'd be nice to be able to lock up my lid and carry a laptop to work in something totally waterproof.

The question is -- can I mount any sort of after market top box on a Triumph rack, or am I better off pulling off the Triumph rack, getting an SW-Motech and just dealing with it?

You can use the Givi adapter plate and top box.

J C Whitney is your friend. My top box for the RS cost $50 and came with ****e hardware to mount to my Triumph rear rack. The cheap locking mechanism to remove and carry the box broke almost instantly, but after putting some screws through the base plate and box, the thing has been solid. It was made in Taiwan by some child slaves, but the price was right.

Just got a Givi 52lt box, Givi adaptor plate and the Triumph base for my 05 from a guy at the local dealer who was selling his 05 Sprint. Cost me about $350 AU and was fitted for free. Excellent setup and would highly recommend.

I'm running a GIVI V46 top case and GIVI 52 litre side boxes, all with SW Motech metal work.

All very good quality, waterproof and and working very well.

Cheers,
Brett.

Fiited a Givi Monokey to my Sprint ST when I was in the States, as 2ndspace says you use the Triumph with the Givi adaptor plate. The Givi adaptor will fit virtually any rack.

Found the Givi to be good and water proof, would hold 2 full face helmets or a lot of gear. Guess you know to be careful about loading your laptop into the box, it will take all the bumps. I always carry mt laptop in a backpack where my body takes all the jarring and my precious laptp rides in comfort out of the wind. Thinking aboutr treat it better than the wife

anybody ever mount a top box or givi to a Renntec rack?

I have the soft bag for it but want a hard box to lock some stuff up in.

Hey Regulator

I hve just looked at the Renntec website, if your rack has the tubular upstand at the back i doubt that you will be able to easily mount a Givi topbox.

If your Renntec rack is flat then I can see no problem.

The Givi adaptor plate bolts on so it would be a bit of a pain keep putting it on or taking it off depending whether you were using hard or soft luggage. I think you would leave the Givi on most of the time.

yeah thats why I asked, it seems like it won't work cause of the tubular bar accross the front of the rack..

might have to get a different rack...
