I've noticed a large fitting on the right rear underside of the airbox. It looks like it should have a 3/8" hose on it. I'm guessing it is to drain water? It's behind the small fitting that connects to the fuel pressure regulator.
I don't know if the hose it donnects to fell off or if I misplaced it when I adjusted my valves.
I'm worried because this is downstream of the filter, so it will let dirty air into my engine. I'm going to just plug it if I don't figure out what's supposed to hook to it.
Anybody know for sure where this goes?

Does it just vent out? It might be an oil drain incase of a tip over. Oil will get up there especially from what I've heard if it's tiped over on the right side.
Just a guess

I read on this board about hydraulic locking a bike that had been down. My bike's breather hose is on the left side, though.
I'm still wondering what this connection does.

Damn, I just had the airbox out of mine too. There were three connections on the bottom. From rider's left to right:
drain hose (to get water out)
some type of crankcase breather hose
the one on the right had some kind of ribbed plastic sleeve over it (not sure what it was)
I'll see if I can trace it next time.

I took my airbox back off this afternoon. Mine's an 01, might be different on the 02 and newer.
Crankcase breather is on the left hand side. The fitting I was talking about is a drain. I'd lost the hose as it fell of the box when I lifted it off the frame. It has a plug shoved into it to keep dirt out..

the pipe on the right with the plastic riibed case around it is a pipe that goes to the atmospheric sensor at the ecm. it monitors atmospheric pressure in the air box to adjust fuel mixture. I know because my ecm is knackered and it 's the atmospheric sensor part thats at fault- expecting a replacement under warranty.
