hi could any of you guys post the socket size for the rear wheel nut on a 2004 Sprint ST

also has anyone had a problem with a minor mist type
oil leak from the head gasket area on the R/H side on the bike nothing too bad just a film which builds up over a week of use ( 400 kms ) just annoying from a otherwise flawless
bike bought the bike (new) in Feb 2004

We have been notified in N.Z. for the fuel fittings recall
they will be replaced at the next service

RAT NZ is going from strength to strength great bunch !!

The rear wheel nut size is a nutty 46mm. I also understand that a 1 13/16" socket will also work. As I recently took off my rear tire, I can tell you it's a buggar to get the nut off. It also requires about 100 ft/lbs of torque when you reinstall it.

Actually I should clarify that. I used a 1 13/16 socket to get my rear tire off.

A much more manageable 27MM on the RS dual-sider. The front is a 19MM (or 3/4") hex (Allen) head.

Hi all,
Actually the nut is 46mm but the 1 13/16 is smaller and fits it better. Get 5 ft bar to put on the end of your breaker bar or you're NOT going to get that thing off.

I hear ya preachp. I used a 18" breaker bar and I was actually standing on the thing to break it free. I was starting to wonder if I was going to break my breaker bar!!!

Yes, if you can, get a nice long breaker bar. These nuts are a PIA to get off of the SSSA.
