:-D I dont mean to be rude but should'nt your bike choice be based on the type of riding you do.
These are very different machines, I'd be trying to sort out what you will use the bike for first

a204600,
mate I too have toyed with the idea of buying a 07 Tiger, but that has changed after talking with my local dealer. He said to me that all Triumph have really done with the new Tiger, is produce another road bike.

It depends on what you want to do with the bike and what type of riding you are going to do. If you want a sports tourer that does it all then the Sprint is the bike for you. It is still too early to see if the Tiger will cut the mustard on dirt roads as well as the open roads or freeways.

As for me I intend to stick with the Sprint for now. Hope this helps and no matter what you get remember no regrets, it a Trumpy and that's all that matters.

I don't see the Tiger as anything other than another sports tourer. Its much more like a Multistrada or a TDM 900. Should sell well - but not to me as I am still not tall enough, despite this models lower seat height. :-D

If youre thinking of an ST I would definately consider the Tiger, depending on the riding youre planning on doing.

I reckon the Tiger will do everything the ST does, the differences being the 05+ ST is slightly on the sport side of the equation where the Tiger is more the touring side with higher bars, more upright position etc.

If I was shopping for an ST now I would find it hard to decide between the two.

Brett.

I agree with what most everyone has said. I don't think you'll be dissapointed with either bike, so the decision really should come down to your riding style. The Tiger will give you a much more upright riding position...almost like a dirt bike. The bars are high, which creates that open riding position. I personally chose the Sprint because I wanted something just a bit more sporty, and it really fits the bill! The bars are high enough to sit comfortably, but agressive enough to have fun in the corners. Both bikes will be excellent choices for touring, so it really does narrow down to seating/riding preference. Good luck!

I think the only real thing you can do is set up a test ride of both bikes back to back, the new tiger has some nice features and does seem to be more on the touring side , I'd have a tough time deciding if I was in the market Good Luck and let us know your impressions :-D

Your height may play a factor as well. The Tiger is a bit taller, so check your height on both. I love my Sprint, but if I were a bit taller AND buying right now, I'd get the Tiger.

I checked out one of the new Tigers when the Triumph truck was @ Eurosport Cycles in Ft. Worth. There were only 2 things I'd change...a little more pullback on the bars and some kinda replacement can for that bazooka. The stock bars are just a little straight for my taste but this should be an easy fix. That exhaust has got to add to top-heaviness. The usd forks & radial front brakes are a big plus. The upright position was just what I'm looking for... I'm planning on gettin' one asap.

You may want to start this same thread over on the Tiger forum...pull in an entirely different group of people.

This is a great example why the 1050 Tiger should be moved over here...

And just buy one already before you kill yourself dragging the sides of the VTX through the corners!
