I think what SpiderTex is talking about is the Sagem ECU does not like to be shut down via the kill switch, it does some "logging off" type of procedure when using the keyswitch. When you use the kill switch, it is effectively like unplugging your computer like a power interruption and COULD corrupt the ECU programming.

I have read about this issue on other forums with other manufacturers that use the Sagem ECU (I think Aprilia uses them also). Not sure if this is the case, but I think that may be what he is referring to. I used to use the kill switch, a habit from the old dirt bike days, but now I use the key, unless I accidently put the sidestand down without thinking.

I understand - I have always used the key to turn of my bike. I am still leaning to wards a program problem in handling poor fuel quality.

An for the Aussie's - I am not using Shell Optimax.
