My rear wheel goes "clonk" when I grab it with my hands. Also when driving the bike seems unstable when turning. So I guess the rear hub bearings are ruined. Is this common for SSSA Triumphs? Bike has only 8000 miles on the clock. My opinion is that there should be no bearing play at all.

Dealer promised to take a look at it. So let's see..
Or should I just get miself a Honda.. :???:

"klonk" from the SSSA is certainly NOT normal.
I got 40.000Km on my ST and no "klonking" anywhere!!

Get this checked. ASAP! Before something rather unpleasant happens whilst driving.

Was your model not included in the recall last year? If it is definately a '03 model it may not have been. Regardless of this, it should be under warranty? and should definitely NOT clonk.
