Went into the dealer the other day looking to get some covers for the rear wheel hub nuts and was told Triumph don't make them as they foul on the exhaust. However whilst trawling ebay uk, I came across a guy selling them for about £30 the pair.

Was the dealer right? The rust covered nuts take the finish off the bike and I think the covers would make a big difference.

If you have hard bags the exhaust is lowered so it will rub a hole in the can. If not, the hub cover is fine. I KNOW FROM EXPERIANCE.

Rust covered nuts - doesn't sound good.

Next time you get the tire changed or pull the tire, why don't you just paint those rusty nuts?

Are we talking about the same thing here? I purchased the Triumph accessory axle covers when I bought my new ST, and I cannot believe they would hit anything!
I looked at them today to be sure - true, I also purchased the Triumph accessory exhaust can, which I believe is narrower, but still. I have the bags on all the time, but I took them off for cleaning last night and there is no evidence of them hitting or rubbing on anything.
It can be argued that the axle covers are a silly expense for an ST with bags, as they are pretty much invisible - but I like them anyway!

I think S/K also sells them.

Ive had 'em on my bike for a year. With the pipe in both positions there is no rubbing.
With the bags off I think they are a must. I dont like the unfinished look of the uncovered nuts

As mentioned earlier Sky King sells the right side cover. I have it on my ST. It looks great but $77 delivered. But since I put the hard bags on and had the silencers lowered you can't see it. It has a wall thickness of less than 1/32" so it does not interfere with the clearance between the nut and can. I have also seen a cover for the left side but I can't remember which site I was on.
