OK, I sure dont mean to be a idiot for posting a repeat topic but am at a loss.

I need a copy of the recall letter for my hard bags. My (@$*(#( dealer here in central Florida is 'bout worthless.

They claim there is no recall on bags and are dropping the issue.

What can I do short of getting a copy of the infamous letter and showing it to them.

I'm so tempted to get ride of the darn bike because I cant get service worthy of the bike.

TIA,

Choop

If you don't mind me asking, who's the dealer?

House of Power in Melbourne/Palm Bay Florida.

I was warned about their cuswt service before I bought but did it anyways. I should have paid the 300 difference between them and the next best price place.

If you got your bags with your 06 ST there shouldn't be a recall. I believe the recall was for the early 05 bags.

You can test thuswise: Try to fit a full face helmet in the panniers. If there is no way it can fit in either, you have the new bags. Also, the old bags felt quite flexible when trying to close with them being full of stuff. Do yours feel flexible?

A quick way to tell if you have the new or old bags is that the old bags have no text near the key/lock. The new bags have "open lock release" around the keyhole.

Also the old luggage closed like a clam shell. The two half just met.

The "new" luggage lids actually overlapped on the box, creating a tight fit.

That was the problem with the old ones. Since they didn't overlap, when you had a bunch of stuff in in them, they would sperate on each side.

You have the new bags probably

Mine have no writing saying lock or uinlock and they are clam-shell type and they take 3 hands to open/close.

Your dealer is not correct. You should tell him what luggage you need.

Also please count to the 10th digit of the VIN. if it's a 6 then your good.

If it's a 5 then he sold you an '05 with as an '06

Sounds like they just put on some old luggage they had sitting around in the back. My dealer did the same thing to me on my '06 even though they already had the new ones in stock. They didn't do it on purpose, they just didn't have a clue.

I talked to them about it and they said they had to get "permission" from Triumph to switch them out. It was a Saturday and they couldn't contact Triumph until Monay. I told them I lived over 2 hours away, I wasn't coming back again and permission or not, they were going to switch them out because I wasn't going to live with the piece of junk luggage they had given me.

They marked it as "warranty" work and switched them out. I don't know why it's warrany work when they simply gave me the wrong bags in the first place, but I didn't care. The new bags are soooooo much better. Good luck and don't put up with any ***** from the dealer. It's a shame they don't know anything about there own bikes.

I've just dealt with them on the phone so far but I might have to take the hour ride there and make a stink in the showroom to get their attention.

I'm green with envy from all the people that have great service after the sale.
