I went to take her for a ride the other day, and I started her up and she ran for about 20 seconds.....kinda sputtered and then died!
Having just over 300 miles on her , I have to tell you that my heart sank.." oh GOD what have I done now!! After calming down a little I came to the conclusion that it was probably either fuel ..computer or plugs. OK now don't laugh folks.. but the last bike I had was over 20 years ago, and I was also kind of in a panic.. hence the post ." is there a fuel shut off" after going through the mechanics of "fuel injection" in my head I decided on a little " get to know each other" was in order.
I can tell you that changing plugs used to be a lot easier and allot less time consuming. trip to the local MC shop..not Triumph, for plugs, and then half way through..to the hardware store for a thin wall socket... and BINGO 3 fouled plugs!!
Again going through the mechanics of fuel injection in my head, I'm still wondering how and why did this happen? So off for a 2 hour ride to the closest Triumph dealer, where it just so happens, that there is a really good Triumph mechanic ( supposedly the best in the state).
He hooks it up to the computer and finds that when the shop that I bought it from did the final set up on it they downloaded the performance tune on it!! On a stock bike!
He also took a look at the new plugs I put in , that were identical to the stock ones, and said that he has found that running a single electrode plug versus a dual seemed to work better. But in the end it looks like it was just to much fuel, and goobered up my plugs. All is well though, I went out for a 3 hour ride today, and she just seems to get better and better!!
Ride safe
