Is the factory chain an X type or an "O" ring type? How long have your chains lasted on your 2005/2006 sprints? :???:

It's a DID chain so I'm thinking X-ring, but don't know for sure.

I replaced the chain and sprockets on my 05 Sprint at 40.000 kilometres, approx 20,000 miles.

The Triumph chain is a X-ring as is most sports-touring bikes today.

Chain life all boils down to maintenance, IE lubrication, the way you ride, wheelies etc quick take-off from the lights, correct chain adjustment.

Having owned several Japanese sport-tourers, I don't think the Triumph is any better or worse, compared to other bikes, basically it how you us the right wrist on the twist gripe.
