Greeting & Salutations,
I just bought myself a 2003 Sprint ST. I'm looking at doing some touring this summer and am looking for a tankbag (with a clear map pocket). I've all ready got a Frank Thomas Cargo bag for my 2003 BMW R1150R Rockster that I love, but it's a magnetic base and doesn't work on the Sprint. Just wondering whose using what & why (general opinions).

Thanks & see you on the road.

Get a 2nd hand Bagster tank cover on e-bay and eith a new or 2nd hand bag. Definitely the best there is.
Welcome to the site mate.

I'll second that. A second hand Bagster cover and bag is the way I went.

Click the album link at the bottom of my post to see some images of it (Warning: The cover doesn't come with the Logos on!)

Saw this guy at the IMS in San Mateo, CA, USA last month and bought one. Good price. I don't really care for strap on tank bags but since getting my new Sprint, I had no choice. Had to give my good mag tank bag too.

I'm with Thefalleone and Rexxypup on this. I bought my RS with a yellow Baglux tank cover already fitted, and picked up a black Baglux Alpha expandable tank bag with clear map pocket, rain cover and shoulder strap.Covers are cheap on ebay, probably because the 99-04 Sprint isn't a current model, but the bags seem to sell for close to the new price. Some folks don't like the look of the tank cover, but I reckon this arrangement is the best solution.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm not to keen on the looks of the tank covers, but if that's the best way... I'm still thinking about my Frank Thomas bag, has anyone tried the FT (or any brand for that matter) attachment that goes on the bottom of a magnetic bag to attach the bag with straps? Just the typical concerns, how well does it hold that bag in place & does it scratch the bike.

cheers,
dave
