Guys,
What are the break in RPM guides? I took off the sticker and can't find it.
Thanks,

Don't worry - the sticker on the tank does not even come close to agreeing with what it says in the manual (which basically says no full throttle and to be sensible).

I think the sticker was 3,000 for 100 miles, 4,000 up to 300 miles etc.

However, my dealer told me to ignore that and that it was throttle opening rather than absolute rpms that are important. So, up to 1/3 full trottle for 100 miles or so - up to 1/2 thereafter and until 500 or 600 miles (first service). I think that most agree than high-ish engine brake pressure is a good way to break in and produce a strong engine - this is when you would ride up a hill using torque in the lower half of the rev range vs. higher rpms. This is the extent of my mechanical savvy!!

Good luck and enjoy - BB

But DON"T LUG (Labour) the engine. That's probably much more harmful than a handfull of throtle every now and then.
